Mobile number stuck on old account


Opened an initial Starling account, found it a bit limited and switched away. After seeing the massive improvements, I realised I’d been a bit impatient so opened a new account - it wouldn’t accept my mobile number, so put my other one in.

I’ve just contacted chat in-app to get my number released/moved/whatever from the old account, and they just repeated “Once an account is closed we won’t be able to re-open another one” twice, and closed the chat!
