Android Pie

#1

So… Google dropped a whole new version of Android earlier this week by surprise. I’m just wondering if anyone else has upgraded and tried it out? :iphone:

#2

I have, on the Pixel 2, and I like it. It looks much nicer, and I like the Digital Wellbeing feature in particular (which is in beta).

#3

How are you finding the navigation?

#4

From what I can tell it’s pretty much the same, with some minor tweaks.

#5

@Liam_Emanuel you may need to go to Settings > System > Gestures and enable “Swipe up on home button” - it wasn’t on by default for me.

That particular navigation tweak will probably take me a little bit of time to get used to but, overall, it appears to be a useful update. The battery improvements are noticeable.

#6

Scrolling seems marginally faster and definitely improved battery management.

#7

What’s Android?? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: :iphone: :green_apple: …Hope it’s good.

#8

I way prefer the volume and screenshot controls too!

#9

I’ve upgraded but using it with nova launcher so not getting the full experience. Loads better but I think my battery performance is worse. I’m on a pixel.

#10

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but has anyone that’s upgraded experienced any issues with the Starling app?

#11

No issues other than this one I posted about:

#12

Not noticed any issues myself :slightly_smiling_face:

#13

Working absolutely fine for me.
